But looking back, I realize there are specific strategies I wish I had known. If I were starting today, this is exactly what I’d do to build momentum quickly.

I’d start by choosing a specific niche—one that aligns with my passions and where I can provide value. Instead of trying to please everyone, I’d focus on solving problems or creating content that resonates with a targeted audience. Ask yourself: Who do I want to watch my videos, and why would they choose my channel?
2. Research Content Ideas and Keywords
Before making any videos, I’d spend time researching high-ranking keywords and trending topics in my niche. Tools like YouTube Search, Google Trends, and platforms like AnswerThePublic can help identify what people are searching for. I’d create a list of content ideas designed to rank in search results.
3. Create a Content Plan
Consistency is key. I’d plan out my first 10-15 videos, focusing on topics that provide value and are likely to attract viewers. A mix of how-to videos, listicles, and personal stories works well to engage different types of audiences.
4. Invest in Quality Basics
You don’t need expensive equipment to start, but clear audio and decent video quality are non-negotiable. I’d use natural lighting, a smartphone, and an affordable microphone to ensure my videos look and sound good.

From the very first upload, I’d make sure my titles, descriptions, and tags are optimized for search. Including keywords naturally in the video script and adding timestamps in the description would help my content rank and make it easier for viewers to find.
