- Program Grants supporting missionābased programming
- Capital Grants (very rare in North Texas)
- Nonprofit Capacity Grants (available in Arkansas and West Texas)
ā Who Is Eligible?
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a taxāexempt 501(c)(3) organization, or operate under a fiscal sponsorship in eligible service areas
- Serve residents located in eligible counties within Arkansas, North Texas, or West Texas
- Ensure ā„50% of participants are served in King Foundation counties
The eligibility quiz launched MayāÆ1, 2025, is required before submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).
š« What the Foundation Does NOT Fund
- Individual grants
- General operating support (except in limited circumstances)
- Debt retirement, endowment building, or annual fund drives
- Pass-through grants to other charities
- Religious programming with promotion goals, fundraising events, conference attendance, or single-condition medical treatments
š° Average Award Size & Reāapplication
- Typical award ranges from $15Kā$75K; average is $30K
- Organizations may reapply 18 months after a previous grant’s report deadline

- Submit LOI via the secure online portal
- Receive status update by early February (Spring) or early August (Fall)
- If invited, submit full proposal and may participate in site visit
- Awards distributed via ACH (June or January)
- Report on your grant project at the end of implementation
