SEMO is a vibrant university that values academic excellence and offers substantial financial support to its students. Each year, Southeast awards more than $20 million in scholarships. These scholarships are based on various factors, including academic achievement, talent, athletic ability, leadership, participation in campus activities, geography, and financial need.

President’s Scholarship at SEMO

The President’s Scholarship at SEMO is a prestigious and competitive scholarship for incoming freshmen who are exceptional both academically and otherwise.

Scholarship Details

Award: $10,000 in the first year, increasing annually to a total of $43,000 over four years for students who meet renewal requirements.
Eligibility:
- Test optional with a 3.9 cumulative high school GPA.
- A 3.75 cumulative high school GPA with an ACT score of 31 or an SAT score of 1390.
Application:
- Apply to SEMO.
- Complete the President’s Scholarship Application, which includes an essay, two letters of recommendation, and official high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores.
Deadline: December 1.
Interview: Applicants are invited to interview on campus in the spring.
Stipend: Finalists who interview receive a $1,500 study-abroad stipend.
Combination: Can be combined with Endowed or Sponsored Scholarships, and the Redhawks Achievement Award.
Notification: Students are notified of their scholarship award through the SEMO portal.

Bonus: Students who apply but are not chosen for the President’s Scholarship automatically receive a $5,000 Copper Dome Scholarship.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities at SEMO

All-In Marquette College Completion Scholarship
- Deadline: Apply to Marquette by January 15 and to All-In Milwaukee by February 15.
Père Marquette Award
- Deadline: Freshmen applicants must apply by January 15. Transfer applicants are considered on an ongoing basis until funds are exhausted.
Urban Scholars Program
- Deadline: Applicants must file the FAFSA by February 1.
Ronald E. and Kathleen M. Zupko Scholarship
- A four-year scholarship for Milwaukee Public School graduates who demonstrate financial need and academic merit.
Goizueta Foundation Scholars Fund
- A need-based scholarship for Hispanic/Latinx students whose families live in the United States.
J. William and Mary Diederich Scholarship
- For students with a high school rank in the top 10%, an ACT composite of 28, or an SAT composite of 1310.
National Merit Scholarship Programs
- A four-year merit scholarship for three National Merit Finalists who register Marquette as their first-choice college.
Merit-Based Aid
- Scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships for students with a strong academic background who enroll full-time.
Special Scholarship Awards
- For specific groups of students, such as communication students, students from Marquette University High School, and students from Green Bay West High School.

Submit Application: Complete the necessary application forms online before the deadline.
